    Affinergy develops site-specific biological delivery systems. We construct bifunctional peptide linkers that can selectively immobilize proteins, cells, and therapeutics onto biomaterial surfaces.     Biopharmaceutical Product Development Scientist


    Responsibilities:

    • Perform quantitative characterization of peptide binding and interactions with target molecules

    • Characterize target molecule activities in vitro and in cell-based models

    • Develop new assay methods to evaluate peptide binding effects on target molecule activities

    • Be an active participant in all aspects of peptide development study design, conduct and reporting

    • Operate with minimum supervision and exercise a high degree of judgment for experimentation and for problem solving

    Qualifications:

    • B.S. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology or related field, and at least 5 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical product development laboratory environment or a M.S. with 2 years of postgraduate experience in a biopharmaceutical product development laboratory environment

    • Experience with cell-based and biochemical assay development

    • In-depth knowledge and experience with peptide characterization using biophysical, chemical and biological techniques

    • Experience in evaluating, improving and validating analytical methods and techniques, HPLC, UV/Vis spectrometry, MS, CE, animal models etc.

    • Experience with mathematical modeling or curve fitting software

    • Have a quantitative, analytical approach to data interpretation

    • Experience and knowledge of cGLPs and cGMPs

    • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, and responsible

    • Effective team skills and ability to understand deadlines and commitments

    • Strong work ethic
