Affinergy develops transformative cell products, medical devices and diagnostics based upon our proprietary peptide linkers that selectively immobilize proteins, cells, and therapeutics onto biomaterial surfaces.

We have a state of the art 12,000 sq. ft. facility located in Durham, NC adjacent to the Research Triangle Park. The position includes a competitive salary and healthcare benefits.



Technology Development Specialist

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated scientist to join our team as a Technology Development Specialist to help expand our technology platform and facilitate the translation of original research into cutting-edge medical devices and in vitro diagnostics. The successful applicant will be a strong writer who enjoys thinking both critically and creatively about science.



Responsibilities:




Core Activities:

  • Research unmet clinical needs and current business markets to develop new product concepts
  • Write Phase I and II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants to develop new extensions of our core competencies
  • Synthesize data from the relevant scientific teams for inclusion in grants, promotional documents, and presentations
  • Perform market research to author commercialization plans for product concepts


Additional Activities:

  • Strategize with the scientific teams to optimize research plans
  • Assist in scientific manuscript and abstract preparations
  • Research additional funding sources




Qualifications



  • Ph.D. with <5 years postdoctoral experience in Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Neuroscience or related field
  • Scientific writing experience such as NIH grant proposals, manuscripts, or book chapters
  • Background in a cellular or diagnostics lab a plus
  • Experience with analytical methods and statistics
  • Ability to parallel process several projects of a multidisciplinary nature
  • Must be a deadline-oriented self-starter, creative, organized, and dependable
